Why I Write Horror About People I Know
Most of my recurring characters are drawn from real friendships. This is not nostalgia. It is structural. Fear becomes sharper when it happens to someone the reader recognizes as real. By returning to the same names and dynamics, I remove the safety of anonymity.
Why I Use Pen Names
Pen names allow risk without expectation. They separate experiments from continuity. The work remains connected thematically, but the reader is freed from assumptions about voice and structure.
Why New Asian Gothic Is Necessary
Asian horror in English is often filtered through explanation or spectacle. New Asian Gothic rejects both. It assumes cultural weight. It does not translate fear. It presents it.
